Manchester United won 2008 Champions League, beat Chelsea in Final


In the first all English Champions League final, Manchester United beat bitter rival Chelsea on penalties after goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Frank Lampard had the scores tie 1-1 after 90 minutes, on Wednesday, 21st May, 2008 at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium.

Manchester United won the final by 6-5 in penalty shoot-out win over Chelsea after a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes.

Manchester United had taken the lead after 26 minutes through a Cristiano Ronaldo header but Frank Lampard equalised just before the break.

Chelsea then hit the woodwork twice but the game went to penalties with the final score at 1-1 after extra-time.

The Blues were handed the advantage when Petr Cech saved Ronaldo's spot-kick and it looked all over for Manchester United when captain John Terry stepped-up to take his penalty.

This is a double joy for Manchester United as they also won the 2008 English Premier League - EPL, against Chelsea only by just 2 points in the last league match.

2008 Champions League Final - Manchester United vs Chelsea, Moscow



The final of 2008 Champions League is an all English showdown, as Manchester United will meet rivals Chelsea at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium, on Wednesday, 21st May, 2008.

Manchester United United beat Barcelona in the 1st semifinal by 1-0 aggregate, as Scholes' 14th-minute strike ensured Moscow birth.

In the 2nd semifinal Chelsea beat their neighbor Liverpool by 4-3 aggregate. Terry guided Avram Grant's team into the final thanks to a thrilling 3-2 win over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

So hope a great match In Moscow as traditional rivals will fight for the glory of Champions League.
