Manchester United won 2008 Champions League, beat Chelsea in Final
In the first all English Champions League final, Manchester United beat bitter rival Chelsea on penalties after goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Frank Lampard had the scores tie 1-1 after 90 minutes, on Wednesday, 21st May, 2008 at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium.
Manchester United won the final by 6-5 in penalty shoot-out win over Chelsea after a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes.
Manchester United had taken the lead after 26 minutes through a Cristiano Ronaldo header but Frank Lampard equalised just before the break.
Chelsea then hit the woodwork twice but the game went to penalties with the final score at 1-1 after extra-time.
The Blues were handed the advantage when Petr Cech saved Ronaldo's spot-kick and it looked all over for Manchester United when captain John Terry stepped-up to take his penalty.
This is a double joy for Manchester United as they also won the 2008 English Premier League - EPL, against Chelsea only by just 2 points in the last league match.
